Aim: To support information you research; to gain more knowledge about the topic or subject
Cross Reference: It is important to use additional information to support or to increase the information we are exploring and learning about. We cannot rely on one source of information or one persons opinion. We must support information with supportive information, as well as to know and understand differences such as opinions. Q. how do we use cross referencing in assignments?
Video example: https://youtu.be/z0J2VELZ4RU
Procedure: A Take notes and make a list of key vocabulary (specialised words), and other main points; things to think about;
- Is there a similar point(s) of information that supports your website information
- Is there additional information (extra information) that you can use to include in your essay
- Is there different information that can help you include good ideas into your paragraph(s)
Teacher example:
- By using the same source of information, or different sources of information
- Or by relying on the internet for current or up to date as a source of recent information, for example Websites or Google Scholar
- To back up or support information we previously researched
- To support or expand information such as statistics, current issues, or other main points, as well as opinions
- To add credibility to information we want to use
Method: In this class you will search the internet for information to support your main ideas – YouTube video. Search for short videos explaining what a topic is. Use a simple search to find a good video, and I recommend that you use a video that has the transcript available.
