Aim: To write an opinion based on the information given, called objective opinion, and the below mentioned points are 1) based on important techniques, and 2) to give you feedback on your previous essays.
Feedback and techniques: keep these things in mind:
- when you think information is important or most important, write about it – what you select is your opinion on the content you want to cover (or review, or summarise)
- select information given in the previous body paragraphs, you can not introduce new information, but when you write your paragraphs you can use new and different words (terms / terminology)
- when you have to write a summary of the previous information; you can focus on any main point or main points of the body paragraphs. For example you can select Main Points from each body paragraph or only 1 body paragraph.
- consider the most relevant main points to your opinion(s), but you can not introduce your own opinion (what you think), for example, based on your ideas and experience
- sometimes when you don’t select content (from the body paragraph information or your ideas), you are expressing your opinion – personal based opinion
- the main aim is to draw your own conclusion from the information – to think about the content and what it means? (Master Students: FOI, results, findings that are specific, or findings that are common, or uncommon….)
