Full essay 3 – Graphs 101

Aim: using a graph; to include data (facts of information); experiences; opinions

Writing Objective: to include a graph below your main body paragraph; your main body paragraph using the American writing standard (APA7) is between 100-120 words; Experience or Reason 1 or Reason 2 (select 1 body paragraph, and include a graph.

Commentary: The best way to start finding a graph is to read your body paragraph, find a main point or a support sentence. Paraphrase the sentence into google with the work graph.

Week 1 essay example:

The first reason is there are a lot of festivals each year in Japan. Festivals are very popular with foreigners visiting Japan in Spring, Summer, Autumn, and winter. In the graph below, you can see that all seasons (recorded) show that foreigners visit Japan in every season. I don’t really have a favorite season but I enjoy the summer festival in Morioka City called Sansa. For example, one of my favorite festivals is the Koiwai Winter Festival in Iwate, because they have ice sculptures. In my opinion foreigners enjoy visiting Japan to see snow and to ski or snowboard. That’s why I think its interesting. (100 words)

For example: Graph obesity children in Japan – the way I select a graph is 1) I can make a summary very easily, and 2) I can also understand some specific information. When I find a graph with point 1) and 2) I decide to use this graph.

Teacher example 2:

From the year 1995 to 2015 an increase in overweight children has increased. [3] To be specific the greatest increase in comparison between 1995 and 2010 is the fact that more overweight children occurred between 2010 and 2015. [3]
