Aim 2: Research Exercise
Research: we research a lot of places, for example online journals [google scholar]; library has a good source of information (closed resources), and this includes magazines, for example national geographic; video media [YouTube] via TED videos
Procedure: At 7:30 tonight, please go to the library and take out a National Geographic Global Readers [link]. There are two levels; Orange and Green, either level is okay. Topics include Fossil Fuels, other topics about the Environment such as Pollution, Population… and so on. Food Supply;
Follow these steps; Collecting data (writing information about your subject)
- Read the book; think about what you want to research and find other resources, for example:
- Videos; to research and find information – YouTube; other National Geographic videos; or another educational media site
- Website; use a educational website, not news or Wikipedia like sites
The process: is to build your knowledge base, to get ideas and learn to understand about the subject (topic). It is circular or ongoing….. this means it is continuous.
The recording stage is to start taking notes and write down some key information about the area you are interested in.
