Aim: To support your ideas in giving issues using two methods; Method 1 Graph or Method 2 is Media Video Source
Method 2: Audio media source using YouTube (in English or Japanese)
Video Sources: Search and identify 2 media sources using YouTube – one video for each paragraph. You will need;
- to search YouTube – an account is recommended but not required. FYI you can easily set up a YouTube account or log in using Gmail or other SMS / email accounts
- to use a PC or smartphone or device with headphones to listen to videos you search – if you have an account with YouTube it is easy to track your watch history
- to include the URL of your 2 videos in your Reference section
Hints: To search for a general topic: Issues in Japan Food production; Or to be more specific in your search: 2018 Food Issues in Japan rice production
Activity Procedure (A): Follow these steps to search for videos and information about the issue:
- The type of video you are looking for is informative type. This means a video which contains information explaining or describing the issue. It is recommended that the video is between 2 minutes and 3 minutes in length (in English is preferred, Japanese is okay).
- Different information is helpful to build the current issue information or (same information is okay to add to current information). It is important that the information connects in the adding process or the building process.
Activity Procedure (B): Follow these steps to record information about the event:
- One method is to record information you hear and write the time of the video. This is a good way to track the information, and find the information easily, again, and again.
- Take notes on paper (one paper for each video); I recommend to make two columns, column 1 for time and column 2 for the information
- Record FOI; such as dates; and other numerical data
- Keep your notes short, and write the key words
- It is also recommended to record all the facts you hear, but later you might not need all the facts in your report
- Finally make a Table in word document and give present your information
Final Procedure (C): include the information into your original essay as;
- add new and additional information, or
- build with new information about the issue
Include as part of your issue paragraphs in blue text. Therefore the original essay is black, the new video information is blue.
